20th Annual Easter Banquet
Denver Rescue Mission, Volunteers of America and Runner’s Roost Denver came alongside 50 volunteers today for the Annual Easter Banquet. The groups spent three hours tending to men, women and children by serving 732 meals, providing 650 pairs of new socks and shoes and washing 48 feet at the Mission’s Lawrence Street Shelter. Easter baskets were also given out to all children present.
The 20th Annual Easter Banquet was an opportunity to provide more than just a meal. It was a time to extend Christ’s love and hope to the city’s most vulnerable – the hungry and hurting. Every day Denver Rescue Mission provides for the physical needs of the homeless, but today the Mission and Volunteers of America wanted to satisfy the spiritual and emotional needs of guests during this holiday season.
