Denver Rescue Mission - LSCC - Chef

Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) is seeking a Chef. The Chef is responsible for all LSCC kitchen operations, activities and volunteer services. Each shift will be staffed with a Chef who will focus on food production, and a Chef who will focus on the volunteer experience through engagement and mobilization. During the course of a shift, all chefs will work as a team and lend assistance to one another as needed. All chefs will be required to fulfill the respective areas of focus based upon the needs of each shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous cooking and commercial kitchen experience required.
• Knowledge in food industry procedures and sanitation codes related to buffet type services.
• Ability to cook in large and small quantities.
• Possess an understanding of hospitality related to food services in front and back of house.
• A heart and desire to serve the needy in a Christian environment.
• ServSafe certified or ability to fulfill certification within 90 days of hire.
• Schedule will include weekends and holidays.

Denver Rescue Mission - The Crossing - Denver Food Services Manager

Denver Rescue Mission is seeking a Denver Food Services Manager. The Denver Food Services Manager is an exempt position of the Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) and must hold to the doctrine and Constitution/By-Laws of the Denver Rescue Mission. The Denver Food Services Manager reports to the Director of Operations. The primary responsibility of the Food Services Manager is to manage the daily operations of our two Denver-based kitchens – the Lawrence Street Community Center (LSCC) and The Crossing (TC), in addition to food inventory and distribution through the DRM warehouse. This entails managing and developing the Assistant Food Services Manager, the Warehouse Food Coordinator, and the chefs at our two kitchen facilities. Additionally, the Food Services Manager is responsible for general oversight of the food services budget, donation maximization, inventory processes, health code compliance, donor relations, volunteer processes, sanitation standards, staff and menu scheduling, and special events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• AA degree in culinary arts preferred.
• Previous food industry and cooking experience required.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to handle high pressure situations while maintaining composure and respect for staff and guests.
• Ability to prepare annual budget projections and proven success in operating within a budget.
• Knowledge of food industry standards and health codes.
• A passion for continuous improvement in food service operations.
• A heart and desire to serve the needy in a Christian environment.
• ServSafe certified or a willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Denver Rescue Mission - - Donation Processing Clerk

Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) is seeking Donation Processing Clerk to work full-time. The Donation Processing Clerk is responsible for Opening and analyzing incoming mail donations while adhering to DRM internal control policies including dual custody of cash. Scanning reply devices and checks. Utilize software to verify the scanned documents by checking names, addresses and donation amounts. Review online gift data and post transaction to the Raiser’s Edge correctly. Setting up new donor accounts into the database, as needed. Generating receipts using a mail merge function. Administering the folding/inserter machine. Administering the postage meter. Receive donations via phone. Process credit card donations. Assisting the DP Supervisor with other projects in the Data Processing Department, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to type 40 wpm with high accuracy.
• Good understanding of donation tax implications, different types of donations, and how they impact on books and donation records.
• Working knowledge and previous experience working in a sophisticated data entry system with accuracy and proficiency.
• Ability to work in an open-area environment while paying close attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess strong Christian values with the conviction to sign the Denver Rescue Mission Statement of Faith.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites.
• Ability to work well in the collaborative environment.
• Basic and intermediate excel skill is a must.

Denver Rescue Mission - Ministry Outreach Center - Driver/Warehouse Assistant

Denver Rescue Mission is seeking a Full-Time Driver/Warehouse Assistant. The Driver/Warehouse Assistant responsible for transporting and picking up materials and people as directed by the Ministry Outreach Center Manager, Dispatch Coordinator, or other staff. As much as possible, these trips will occur during regular office hours. However, emergency situations may arise that require trips outside of the normal business hours. The position will also be responsible for daily warehouse responsibilities, not limited to processing donations, mentoring and supervising men in our programming, as well as maintaining the overall cleanliness of the warehouse.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A good driving record and excellent driving habits, as well as the ability to be added to the DRM Vehicle Insurance policy.
• Strong work ethic, communication skills and the ability to resolve conflict professionally.
• Proficient at following a schedule.
• A friendly and thankful attitude to all donors, staff, and volunteers.

Denver Rescue Mission - The Crossing - Life Skills, Education & Career Development/Youth Coordinator

Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) is seeking a full-time Life Skills, Education & Career Development (LEC) / Youth Coordinator. The individual will be is responsible for site supervision and workshop facilitation for participants in the New Life Program, the STAR transitional housing program, as well as youth activities. Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate courses, academic activities and life skills/recreational workshops related to participants’ successful completion of the program. Supervise all classroom practices - room arrangement, lesson plans, daily schedules, routines, and transitions to assure their excellence and adherence to program policies. Teach/substitute courses as needed. Evaluate each student’s abilities and needs. Meet regularly with students to evaluate progress and goals. Identify and prioritize materials and equipment needed in courses and classrooms, and coordinate with director in making purchases. Maintain accurate student records and statistics. Proactively seek to improve and integrate the LEC into the NLP and STAR programs. Develop participants/youth spiritually by revealing God’s love for them and presenting them with the Gospel and discipleship Encourage participants/youth to develop spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, socially, behaviorally and physically in a safe environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred in education or a related discipline
• Previous experience teaching in adult/youth education and program coordination
• Previous experience with trauma informed care
• Willingness to learn and work with a population that has struggled with addictions and homelessness
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to model good Christian character
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
• Good interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to assess, research, and develop curriculum and related materials

Denver Rescue Mission - - V.P. of Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer

Denver Rescue Mission, a faith-based charitable non-profit organization, is seeking a V.P. of Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO reports directly to the President/CEO of the Mission and is a member of the Senior Leadership team. The CFO is primarily responsible for leading the financial strategies of the organization which include Financial Services, Risk Management, Information Systems, Human Resources and Special Strategic Projects. This is a full time exempt position.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Management: Responsible for managing and implementing financial policies, procedures, planning, regulatory and management reporting, analysis, budget and cash management. Responsible for advising CEO and Board of Directors on financial matters, as well as creating and maintaining integrity of internal and external reporting.
o For as long as the Tax Exempt Financing debt facility shall remain active, the CFO shall perform the primary duties and responsibilities as detailed in that certain Procedures for Ongoing Compliance that is included in the current CFO file. The duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring, reporting, adherence to IRS Form 8038 and other duties specified in the aforementioned document.
• Investment Management: Responsible for the investment of DRM’s funds in accordance with the DRM Investment Policy, as outlined by the Board of Directors. Responsible for the Employee Retirement Plan and lead, monitor and implement the 401K Fiduciary Committee and related IPS (Investment Policy Statement).
• Finance Committee: Responsible for the oversight and coordination of this strategic Board Committee. Lead and attend monthly meetings, implement strategic and tactical actions as required by the Board and by the Finance Committee and ensure the annual scorecard of activities is completed.
• Risk Management: Keep current and enhance DRM’s business insurance coverage, as DRM needs and environmental changes dictate. Provide timely counsel and monitoring of claims and/or potential areas of exposure. Direct contract review, negotiation and approval across the Mission and ensure contracts are stored and able to be retrieved efficiently.
• Legal Liaison/Counsel: Direct all legal activities of the Mission. Act as advisor and “point” person with General Counsel in matters relating to corporate law, policy, employment law and crisis management.
• Policy and Procedures: Responsible for maintaining general and administrative, employment and financial policies for DRM. Responsible for maintaining legal, contracts and other strategic documents (Document Retention).
• Human Resources: Responsible for oversight and implementation of hiring, firing, compensation, benefits, professional development and training policies.
• Strategic Planning: Assist CEO in conjunction with Board and Senior Leadership Team in developing and implementing the strategic direction and vision of DRM and aligning and procuring resources to meet the goals and objectives of DRM.
• Information Systems: Responsible for technology, telecom and software architecture design, selection, implementation and maintenance. Duties include maintenance of IT infrastructure, IT security and data management. Responsible for Cyber Security across the Mission and lead the cross-departmental Cyber Security Team.
• Business Development: Assist CEO in the expansion of the program and the diversification of DRM’s revenue base through the development and/or acquisition of commercial programmatic activities and businesses.
• Special Projects: Lead a broad range of strategic projects that often include Program, Operations and Development areas.
• Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative (coaching) approach on a consistent basis; develop unity and spiritual depth of team members and coach direct reports in doing the same

QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of a BS in finance or accounting; a CPA, CMA MBA preferred
• At least ten years of experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, in an organization with a budget of at least $20 million or greater.
• Effective at developing, mentoring and motivating teams, and evaluating talent
• Five years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in leadership roles.
• Five years of experience in IT, preferably in leadership roles
• Seven years general experience in business insurance, development/marketing, contracts, legal and document management.
